Welcome to Hope Rising, where friends are working to make a difference in our community. We feel that a group of energetic, compassionate people can do great things together.

Hope Rising is a Washington, D.C.-based, non-profit corporation established in 2003 to make Washington a better place by helping those in need. Hope Rising plans and supports social events that raise funds and awareness for area charities, aiding them in providing services for others.

To date, we have raised over $350,000 for local D.C. charities, primarily House of Ruth, through our annual Celebrate Hope event. We have also paved the way for other charitable efforts, which have resulted in almost $75,000 being raised for additional worthy causes, including the Lance Armstrong foundation. The members of Hope Rising are committed to making their community a better place by raising money and awareness for charitable organizations that reach out and provide services and support to the underserved of the Washington, D.C. area.

This year we are proud to be raising money for an inspiring organization, Bright Beginnings. Sadly, families with young children are among the fastest growing segments of the homeless population in Washington, D.C. Bright Beginnings is a child and family development center that offers a bright start for homeless infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and their families. Bright Beginnings serves children whose families are living in crisis shelters or transitional housing.

Every day at Bright Beginnings, some of the most vulnerable little ones in D.C. are nourished, enjoy a safe environment, get an opportunity to learn, and receive warm affection. It's sometimes easy to adopt a cynical approach to the world, but there are so many reasons for hope. We, the members of Hope Rising, believe that in a small way, our efforts to raise money for great causes through celebrations of hope will encourage and support those who are doing the incredibly important and difficult work: helping our neighbors in the greatest need.
